OPERATING
THEATRES |
Each
surgery has at least two well-equipped operating theatres.
This is where all surgical procedures are performed.
Each theatre contains modern anaesthetic equipment, drugs
and sterile surgical instruments required to perform
a wide range of surgical procedures.

|
|
| LABORATORY |
 |
Each
surgery has a well-equipped laboratory where we can perform
detailed analysis of blood and urine samples, microscopes
enable us to study samples of skin, hair and fluids.
If more information is required then samples are sent
to a specialist laboratory where more detailed tests
can be undertaken.

X-RAYS |
Each
surgery is equipped to take x-rays of a patient. An
x-ray is a picture of an animal which shows internal
organs including bones, and helps us to diagnose specific
conditions for example broken bones or foreign bodies
(such as stones).
|
| |
|
|
| ECG |
 |
This
enable us to produce a trace, or picture of the heart’s
electrical activity. It is useful because it tells us
how the heart is working, and also helps us to diagnose
certain heart problems.

|
|
 |
ULTRASOUND |
Ultrasound
uses sound waves to build up a picture of internal
organs inside the body. It is safe and doesn’t
hurt, and is often used either on its own or with x-rays
to provide a detailed picture of what is going on inside
an animal’s body. Ultrasound is frequently used
for pregnancy diagnosis and also for diagnosing heart
problems.

| BLOOD
PRESSURE MONITOR |
 |
Assessing
an animal’s blood pressure is useful as a measure
of their general health and also helps to diagnose certain
conditions, particularly in cats. It is also helpful
to monitor a patient’s blood pressure whilst it
is under general anaesthesia.

DENTISTRY |
Dental
care is an important part of small animal practice.
Each surgery has excellent facilities enabling us to
provide a wide range of dental health care from routine
descaling through to more complicated dental procedures
including extractions. Our well trained staff will
be pleased to advise you regarding your pet’s
dental health.

| ENDOSCOPY |
 |
Endoscopy
involves using a fibre optic light and camera to visualise
area inside the body that would normally be difficult
to see, for example inside the bowel or lungs. It is
also sometimes possible to use the endoscope to take
small pieces of tissue (a biopsy) form these areas, which
can be extremely helpful for making a diagnosis.
